Ceremony Aisle and Gazebo

What to do or Not to do . . . . .

The gazebo . . . what to do, how much, how big, will it blow away, will it be too hot . . . these are all relevant and important questions to ask before you make the final decision regarding your decoration on the gazebo.

Each gazebo arrangement is designed to reflect your colors, flowers, and style. But most importantly keep in mind the weather and time of day your ceremony will begin.  The front of the gazebo faces West and it is in FULL sun all day.  The afternoon sun can warm up and wilt tender flowers so I try to use hearty flowers and greenery, pack the arrangement tightly so you don't see a "droopy" flower, and use gravity to my advantage by mixing in naturally bending flowers down and around one another.

Here is a list of the standard gazebo florals:
  • a single center spray
  • 2-part split spray (small front 2-post sprays or tear drop)
  • 3-part split spray (smaller middle spray with 2-side post sprays)
  • smilax garland with flower clustering (flower clustering)
  • carnation pomanders (two-6" and two-8"; roses are additional)

Simple and unique - go for the hanging pomander balls.  The above pomanders are a mixture of Sahara and Black Baccara Roses and camellia leaves.  After the ceremony the couple took them inside and placed them on the cocktail tables around the dance floor.

Also, available is my heavy weight ivory draping swagged from the center and to each down post for an elegant, soft effect (additional fee for rental and set up is $60).

Upgraded arrangements like below can add a new dimension to the gazebo. Instead of flowers on the gazebo you can rent low white columns (available to rent at $15/each) to be placed in front and then use large floral arrangements on them. Then after the ceremony you can relocate them into the reception, maybe behind the head or sweetheart table. Also, if you do want more flowers and/or color you can opt to upgrade the spray to a full-floral garland. This consists of groupings of flowers with minimal greenery along the top edge of the gazebo. This works wonderfully for morning weddings when the sun isn't directly in front of the gazebo.
